That’s why you should get started with Amazon

Magnus Bråth

In August 2020, the e-commerce giant Amazon, one of the world’s largest platforms for online sales, confirmed that it was launching in Sweden.

Amazon was founded in 1994 by entrepreneur Jeff Bezos and has its headquarters in Seattle, USA. In the beginning, the idea was for the website to function as an online bookstore, but in 1998 they expanded their range with more products and also acquired the popular film database IMDb.

In addition to all the products that different e-retailers sell on the platform, Amazon also has its own product line. Perhaps you’ve heard of the Kindle e-reader or the virtual assistant Alexa? Both of these were developed by Amazon itself. Since 2014, Amazon has also owned the popular streaming service Twitch, which has about 7.5 million users.

You can sell on Amazon through two different methods. The first method means that you ship all products directly to the customer yourself when you receive an order, in the same way you would from your own webshop (“Fulfilled by Merchant”, “FBM”). The second method means that you send an inventory of products directly to Amazon, which then packs and ships your products to the customer (“Fulfilled by Amazon”, “FBA”). If you choose the latter method, it is often cheapest to have your manufacturers ship the products directly to Amazon.

Optimize your product pages for better visibility

There are some similarities between Amazon and Google that you should keep in mind if you want to compete on Amazon. One of the most important aspects is optimizing your product pages to ensure visibility when potential customers search for your products—just like when you optimize a landing page to increase the chances of appearing in Google’s search results. This is not entirely straightforward and requires time, planning, and analysis. That’s where we can step in to help you achieve success on Amazon.

Advertise on Amazon’s own ad network

In addition to optimizing your product pages for the best possible results, you can also advertise on Amazon’s ad network. Being visible in both the search results and the ad network increases your chances of driving sales. However, since competition is high, it can become expensive without continuous optimization and monitoring. Our Amazon advertising service helps you manage the entire process to ensure your campaigns are as profitable as possible.

Results require analysis, planning, and time
