Once you’ve decided — or almost decided — to finally start an e-commerce business, you’re naturally faced with thousands of questions. But how on earth do you find the answers?
We’ve been recommending the e-commerce forum Ehandel.se for a long time. It’s an excellent place to start for anyone who wants to learn more about running an online store. The forum features a reputation system — a bit like a rating score. If someone gets help or an answer to a question, they can give a thumbs-up to the helpful retailer who took the time to respond, offer advice, or help out in other ways. In this way, it’s actually possible to get a rough idea of how helpful people are.
We believe helpfulness should be recognized and celebrated. Sure, this might not be the perfect way to determine who’s the most helpful — there may very well be others who are just as helpful, and of course, it’s not a competition. What we at Brath can say for sure is that these are genuinely helpful people, based on what we’ve seen. That’s why we want to highlight them.
Daniel Andersson
Daniel Andersson is the one who’s received the most thumbs-ups on Ehandel.se. He rarely minces words — something that resonates well with Swedish e-commerce entrepreneurs. With a direct and openhearted approach, he offers advice to newcomers in the e-commerce world. Daniel doesn’t hesitate to help someone get started quickly, or for that matter, call out situations that smell like someone’s trying to mislead e-retailers — which, unfortunately, happens from time to time.

Bernt Bergkvist
We’re of course very proud to have one of the most appreciated e-commerce professionals here at Brath. It’s true that Bernt earned most of his strong reputation even before joining us (which, frankly, is a pretty good reason to hire someone) — but we also strive to be helpful, so Bernt is a perfect fit for our team. For years, Bernt has been helping e-retailers on Ehandel.se save money on shipping or calculate return on investment.

Dan Nilsson
Perhaps not surprisingly, we find the founder of Ehandel.se among the most appreciated members. In addition to starting Ehandel.se, Dan has been behind (either on his own or with others) projects like Roligaprylar.se, Fyndiq.se, Contentor AB, and several others. Lately, it seems Dan has been prioritizing his beard — which leaves us a bit unsure about the best way to show our appreciation for him.

Richard Torsslow
Just like the previously mentioned e-retailers, Richard Torsslow is an exceptionally helpful person. He provides clear, straightforward answers on everything from whether you need accounts with Amazon’s national divisions to handle VAT correctly, to what you should keep in mind when working with search engine optimization. Richard runs Butik21, which, among other things, offers support stockings.

Per Nilsson
Next on the list — and the one to wrap up this post — is knife sharpener Per Nilsson. The ever-helpful (and ever-awake?) sharpening master Per Nilsson helps people get sharper knives and get their e-commerce in order. At Brath, we believe Per is one of those people who truly deserves recognition.

In closing
Of course, there are many other helpful e-retailers out there, and we’ve certainly missed plenty in this list — Joel, Katrin, Greger, and many more have given us great advice and good laughs. But endlessly long lists can be a bit much, so we chose to follow Ehandel.se and their rankings. If you think we’ve left someone out, go ahead and write a post of your own — we’re not the only ones who can show appreciation.
