Onlinelistan.com – Improves Your Visibility in Search Engines

Magnus Bråth

Today we are opening Onlinelistan.com to everyone, and we want to take the opportunity to explain what it is, since there’s actually an interesting background that makes it useful for your SEO.

Our newest site, Onlinelistan.com, is something as old-fashioned as an online directory of websites. It carries a history comparable to the search engines we so often use today, and in Google’s eyes, that actually means quite a bit of authority.

About a decade ago, there was the KTHNOC catalog, a site that tried to list and organize the best Swedish websites in a tree structure. Google found such sites very useful at the time, since they provided clarity. My own memory of the KTHNOC catalog is that in many cases, it was enough to simply add a site there for it to take the number one position on a keyword.

After a few years, KTH chose to shut down the site, probably because it was considered outside of their core operations. Providing SEO help was likely never their goal. The content was sold to a company that built a similar directory, but the domain and all its inbound links were abandoned.

Now, many years later, we at Brath have bought the domain, rebuilt a similar tree structure to what the site once had, and fixed all the 301 redirects. This way, we’ve created a very powerful web directory. Today we’re opening it to the public. You can register your website in the correct category to benefit from the authority already built into the site. We manually review all websites and charge a review fee (annually) of 399 SEK for this.
