See local search results anywhere in the world with our new tool

Magnus Bråth

Getting a proper overview of how search results look in a city other than the one you’re currently in can be a real challenge. That’s why we’re launching our tool for local search results today.

If you live in Örebro and want to know what it looks like when someone Googles for bicycles in Uppsala, you’ve got a bit of a problem. Not only does Google deliver personalized search results to every user of the search engine, but the results are also heavily influenced by where in the country you are located. To give you a clearer picture, we are launching a tool today that can show local search results from anywhere in the world, no matter where you are.

With a small caveat that nothing is ever 100% exact when it comes to Google’s geographic settings, this is the simplest way we’ve been able to come up with to really see search results from another city, another country-specific version of Google, or in another language.

Competition – help us find a name

We haven’t yet come up with a good name for the tool, so we’d love your suggestions. Leave a comment with a name idea (and make sure to include a valid email address). We’ll send you some merchandise featuring the new name and logo we put together if we think your suggestion was the best one.

In the meantime, it’s called The Local Search Results Tool, and you can find it here.
